Cornwall Gives A Shirt

  • The Salvation Army Cornwall 500 York Street Cornwall, ON, K6J 3Z8 Canada (map)

Waste Reduction Week is October 19 to 23. The City of Cornwall is hosting community-wide textile collection that week, called Cornwall Gives A Shirt!

Set out bags of gently used clothing, linens, and footwear on your regular collection day the week of October 19 to 23. Be sure to mark these bags with a large and clear sign marked with “Cornwall Gives A Shirt.”

Two new elements are being added to the program this year:
1. Residents can bring their textiles/clothing directly to the landfill for free,
2. And residents can set out bags of well-worn clothing – items that cannot be reused - and label them “clothes for recycling.”

Volunteers will collect the bags and donate them to one of three local thrift stores:

  • Monday: Serendipity Boutique (and Value Village if the Boutique runs out of storage space)

  • Tuesday: New for You (Agape Centre)

  • Wednesday: New for You (Agape Centre)

  • Thursday: Salvation Army Thrift Store

  • Friday: Salvation Army Thrift Store

2019 diversion : 7,100 pounds
